Peter Lang

A graduate of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in 1988, Peter Lang has established himself as an outstanding musician and musical educator in the Austrian music scene. His studies included music education and instrumental music education with a focus on singing and conducting. Under the guidance of renowned teachers such as Herwig Reiter, Helmuth Froschauer, and Erwin Ortner, he honed his talents and laid the foundation for his successful career.

Peter Lang made his debut as a conductor on June 13, 1983, with a performance of Mozart's "Coronation Mass." Between 1986 and 1989, he served as a conductor and choir educator with the "Vienna Boys' Choir." In 1988, he assumed the artistic direction of the choir ensemble "Singkreis Cantate Domino," which later evolved into "Chor Curiositas," primarily performing in Vienna under his leadership. Additionally, he held the position of choir conductor for the "Vienna Men's Choir" from 1989 to 1991.

In 1994 and 1995, he led the "Mozart Boys' Choir," and in the same year, he founded the successor choir, the "Amadeus Boys' Choir Vienna," which was renamed the "Mozart Boys' Choir Vienna" in 2006. He continues to tour the world with this choir, captivating audiences across Europe, Asia, South America, and beyond.

Since 1991, Peter Lang has been teaching vocal training at the Vienna Conservatory and conducting specialized seminars for children's voices and choirs. Despite regularly being invited to conduct larger works with various choirs, he has also been the artistic director of the church choir of the Leopoldau parish since 2008.

Peter Lang is married and has three children.
