Maximilian Müller

The tenor Maximilian L. A. Müller, originally from Leipzig, gained significant musical experience from an early age and throughout his youth as a chorister and soloist with the renowned Leipzig Thomanerchor, performing on the stages of various international concert halls.

In 2017, following the completion of his secondary education, he began his vocal studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Professor Peter Edelmann. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in 2022 and subsequently began his Master’s in Vocal Performance, continuing with Professor Peter Edelmann as well as Professors Anton Scharinger and Wolfgang Dosch. He also received further artistic inspiration from KS Siegfried Jerusalem, KS Robert Holl, and KS Michael Schade.

His repertoire spans opera, operetta, as well as concert and art song. In May 2024, he made his debut as one of the apprentices in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Vienna State Opera. During the inaugural season of the Vienna State Opera’s new venue, the “NEST,” he portrayed roles such as the Steersman (The Flying Dutchman) and Froh (Das Rheingold) in the production Wagnis Wagner. He has also appeared as Tamino in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, the theatre director in Eötvös' Radames, Gabriel von Eisenstein in Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, and Raoul de St. Brioche in Lehár’s The Merry Widow.

In upcoming productions, he will perform as Janio in Indigo und die 23 Räuberinnen* – based on Johann Strauss’ Indigo und die 40 Räuber – as part of the Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna anniversary celebrations, as well as Gustave in Offenbach’s Pomme d’Api and Jacquot in Pierrette et Jacquot at the “Festival Gegen den Strom.”
